Rejlers two major framework agreements with Agder Energi are being extended by two years and Rejlers will be assured deliveries for over NOK 100 million. One of the agreements concerns technical consultancy services to all companies in the Agder Energi Group. The other contract concerns the implementation of electrical inspections amongst Agder Energi Nett’s electricity customers. Each contract has an estimated annual value of around NOK 25 million.

"We are very pleased that the companies in the Agder Energi Group will also be using our services in 2018 and 2019. This must mean that we have done a good job, thus far," says Kjell Myrann, Divisional Manager of Elkraft i Rejlers.

Both agreements were signed in 2016, with an option to extend for a further two years, which Agder Energi is now exercising. The agreement regarding inspection has been signed with the network company and means that Rejlers Elsikkerhet AS shall conduct around 8,000 annual inspections of electrical installations amongst AE Nett’s private and business customers.

Deliveries to the Group include design and project management across a wide field within electrical power, electrical engineering, documentation, construction and the environment. Agder Energi Nett is Agder Energi's most important individual customer.

"In the coming years, a huge investment will be made in the power grid. New residential areas, shopping centres and business parks require a safe energy supply. This means more assignments for us," says Myrann.

Satisfied client
In total, the framework agreements with Agder Energi are Rejlers’ largest within electrical power. According to Myrann, it means a lot that the contracts have been extended by a further two years.

"This will give us the opportunity to preserve and further develop our expertise in electrical power. Our collaboration with Agder Energi will also help us win contracts with other energy companies. The framework agreement with Helgeland Kraft, which was signed earlier this year, is an example of this," says Myrann.

He believes the large-scale upgrade of the power grid, with digitalisation, flow pricing and increased options for controlling power flow, will offer major opportunities to Rejlers in the coming years.

Svein Are Folgerø, Managing Director of Agder Energi Nett, states that the positive climate of collaboration influenced their decision to extend the contracts with Rejlers.

“We have noted that our collaboration is developing and constantly improving. The competition in this sector is tough, but we have noted that Rejlers continuously delivers, with regard to both quality and price. We hope that Rejlers will continue in the same vein in the coming years," says Folgerø.

Comprehensive electrical inspection
The contract for electrical inspection means that over the next two years Rejlers will conduct around 16,000 inspections in residential and commercial buildings in Agder. The inspection plan is being prepared by Agder Energi Nett in collaboration with Rejlers Elsikkerhet based on instructions issued by the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB). Asbjørn Hilde, Manager at Rejlers Elsikkerhet, says that the contract will engage around 20 employees over the next two years.

“As well as the mandatory inspection activity, we will visit schools in order to educate pupils about electrical safety. Audits of electrical engineering companies, market and product control and locating earth faults also form part of the contract," says Hilde.

Thomas Pettersen, CEO of Rejlers Norge, says that Rejlers is pleased that Agder Energi considers the collaboration to be valuable and is extending the agreements.

"Electrical inspection is a vital social task. By combining new technological appliances with very competent inspection engineers, Rejlers is committed to operating inspection activities in the most effective way and becoming the leading player in this field in Norway, says Thomas Pettersen.
