Franklin Township to take possession of McCoy Miller ambulance following event

INDIANAPOLIS — During FDIC International, McCoy Miller Emergency Vehicles will showcase its 2016 FDIC show ambulance in one of the largest booth displays at the April 18-23 conference. An industry-leading ambulance brand of REV Group, Inc., McCoy Miller will share the expansive 20,000-square-foot space with four other sister ambulance brands, as well as REV’s fire truck manufacturer E-ONE.

McCoy Miller’s show ambulance, a Medic built on a 2016 Ford F-450 4x4 chassis is a recent Franklin Township Fire Department purchase that will be delivered to Columbus, Ohio following the FDIC show. Sold by Steve Stricklen of Burgess Ambulance Sales in Loudonville, Ohio, this unit features Liquid Spring suspension, ducted heating and air conditioning, a 12-volt Excel electrical system and an upgraded LED lighting package.

McCoy Miller is proud to display this unit, especially because it marks a new relationship. This ambulance will be the first McCoy Miller deployed to the township. Headed by Chief James Welch, the department responds to more than 8,000 calls per year with a 28- person staff, including an assistant chief, three lieutenants, three captains and 21 shift firefighters.

McCoy Miller dealers will get a bird’s eye view of FDIC thanks to REV Group’s double-deck lounge, which will include a Magic Piano Bar, along with coffee, beverages and light hors d’oeuvres.

In addition to Resqmedic vehicles, McCoy Miller also manufacturers Type I and Type III ambulances on the Ford Chevy and Dodge chassis, along with Type II Guardian vehicles on the Ford Transit, Chevy, and Sprinter chassis. As an international ambulance manufacturing company, McCoy Miller’s footprint transcends townships with shipments across the United States and into other countries, like Kuwait, Riyadh and Saudi Arabia, as well as Africa and Central America.
