System to be show on Wheeled Coach FDNY ambulance at FDIC International

INDIANAPOLIS — Wheeled Coach is displaying Stealth Power’s Ambulance Idle Reduction System on a FDNY ambulance at FDIC International 2016, the world’s largest gathering of emergency professionals. Wheeled Coach, an ambulance manufacturer of REV Group, Inc., will be located at Booth 5300 during the April 18-23 show at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

The innovative idling system provides standby power without engaging the Wheeled Coach engine to reduce harmful emissions and vehicle maintenance while powering the vehicle’s electrical equipment. An idling emergency vehicle poses a health risk to paramedics and passengers in the vehicle, as well as those in the nearby emergency room. The system, which complies with local and state idling regulations, works to reduce C02, NOx and greenhouse gas emissions.

Meanwhile, thanks to better idling, the life of the vehicle is extended because the system decreases “ghost” miles that can cause wear-and-tear on the vehicle and cause the warranty to prematurely expire. Instead, the Wheeled Coach Stealth Power system helps lengthen maintenance cycles while using less fuel in the process.

At the same time, ambulance technicians can easily operate the vehicle’s onboard electrical systems through Stealth Power technology. The technician can control air, heat, lights, camera, laptops, radio, refrigerator, chargers and power-load stretchers for hours without engaging the engine. And the system recharges from the vehicle’s alternator while en route, or from shore power.

Wheeled Coach will display the FDNY ambulance and this state-of-the-art system in Booth 5300. The 43-year-old manufacturer will share 20,000 square feet of space with its sister REV Group ambulance brands (Road Rescue, Horton Emergency Vehicles, America Emergency Vehicles and McCoy Miller Emergency Vehicles), as well as E- ONE, a REV fire truck manufacturer.
