The Rezidor Hotel Group announces a change in their Norwegian portfolio: Rezidor and the owners of the Radisson Blu Hotel Fredrikstad, Lykkeberg Hotel Drift AS and Lykkeberg Holding AS, have mutually agreed to terminate their agreement. Effective October 1, 2009, the Radisson Blu Hotel Fredrikstadt will no longer be operated by Rezidor. The 172 room-property has been opened in February 2007. “This termination does not affect our focus on a further profitable growth in our Nordic home markets”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. In Norway, where Rezidor currently operates 23 hotels with a total of 5620 rooms, the group especially aims to development the young and dynamic mid market brand Park Inn. Among the key projects under development are the Park Inn Oslo (118 rooms, Q1 2010) and the Park Inn Oslo Airport featuring 300 rooms and extensive conference facilities which is scheduled to open its doors in Q3 2010. “This hotel will also strengthen Rezidor’s position as Europe’s leading airport hotel operator – our portfolio comprises almost 30 airport hotels with more than 7,500 rooms”, says Kurt Ritter. With the First Class- and Full Service-brand Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts (formerly Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts) Rezidor aims to grow into depth in Norway and to further develop the resort model. In December 2008, Rezidor opened the successful Radisson Blu Resort, Trysil with 210 rooms; and in late 2011, the Radisson Blu Sørlandet Resort, Tromøya Arendal with 290 rooms will welcome the first guests.
