Robomow, A Cut Above The Rest!

Robomow has announced its best year so far for sales of its range of robotic lawnmowers.

From March (the start of the lawn mowing season) through to May 2014, Robomow’s UK sales have increased 136% compared to the same period last year. Robomow’s UK distributor, Mower Magic, identified May as Robomow’s best-selling month, seeing a 189% rise on sales this year as opposed to last year. The best-selling model during May was the very popular RC304, designed for lawns up to 400 sq m.

Although an increasingly popular purchase on mainland Europe (one of the fastest growing categories of garden product), with sales growing by 20% per year, the UK market has traditionally been slower to adopt the robotic lawn mowing option. Now it would appear that the UK attitudes are changing. Efficient performance combined with low running costs, easy maintenance and the clear benefit of not being a slave to the lawn during the summer is starting to turn heads.

Better still, Robomow has researched the UK market and introduced a new range for the season offered at lower price points than comparable competitor units – always a plus with value focussed gardeners – and invested in a UK facing marketing and sales campaign. Robomow anticipates that this year could see the major breakthrough into the British market.

Robomow robotic lawnmowers mow the lawn at regular, adjustable intervals. There are new models that are smarter, faster and more compact than ever. It doesn’t matter what size, the machines are able to tackle lawns from under 200 sq m to 3,000 sq m with ease, dealing with almost any terrain, slope angle and even debris such as twigs and leaves littering the lawn. Each model also features the unique Patented Edging Mode exclusive to Robomow, which enables the blades to cut beyond the wheel base and trim right over the lawn edge.

Another positive feature that undoubtedly boosted UK sales figures is the Robomow App feature. It is the most comprehensive App of its type available worldwide; it guides new Robomow owners through initial installation and setup and then provides access to the entire mower’s interface on one convenient screen. Your can check battery life, see when it is next due to mow, send the Robomow to mow and even drive it via remote control.

Even better, all Robomow models boast a powerful mulching system built in, which means there is no grass box to empty. Cuttings are shredded into miniscule pieces before being spread at the roots of the lawn, where they return valuable water and nutrients to the soil. This, along with the absence of fuel and low noise levels also makes it particularly environmentally friendly.

Mower Magic is the UK’s leading retailer of garden robotics and UK distributor of the Robomow range. John Hall, Managing Director, said, “As a Robomow distributor, we have had our best ever UK sales. We are absolutely thrilled to have had such a successful start to this year, we have doubled our sales this year against 2013 figures which is a fantastic achievement. These past three months have indicated to us that the UK is embracing the Robomow range and these machines really are the future of lawn care.”

Notes to Editors

Robomow is the market leading brand of automatic lawnmowers manufactured by Friendly Robotics, a company exclusively dedicated to developing robomowers. Founded in 1995, the company launched the Robomow Classic in 1997. Since then the product has evolved and improved to boast three unique features: stronger blades and more powerful motors, a larger mowing width resulting in faster operation and an edge mode which trims lawn edges before mowing the rest of the lawn.
