On April 6-8 the annual European Robotics Forum takes place in Västerås, Sweden. The event attracts over 250 robotics researchers and developers from all over Europe. This year’s theme " Enabling innovation: from research to products" will approach aspects on successful commercialization of robot ideas and research. The Swedish robotics initiative Robotdalen hosts the event and will present successful robotics projects focusing on the end-users.

The forum is a joint annual conference organized by EUROP (European Robotics Technology Platform) and EURON (European Robotics Research Network). In the organizations, members from companies, universities and organizations cooperate in strengthening Europe’s competence and competitiveness in the field of robotics. Non-members are also welcome to attend the conference to connect with future business and research partners and hear the latest on what’s going on within robotics development.

Exhibition, workshops and seminars
The main theme of the event is successful commercialization of research and robotic ideas and during April 6-8 the participants will attend a number of speaks, workshops and seminars. Industrial robotics, service robotics, security and space robotics are some of the themes on the separate sessions. There will also be workshops on entrepreneurship, networking and marketing. Robotics in education and embedded systems are other topics at the forum. On April 7 there will also be an exhibition where the visitors will meet innovators, entrepreneurs, companies and researchers to learn more about projects and products.

Robotdalen enables commercial success
Robotdalen is one of the leading robotics initiatives when it comes to enabling commercial success of ideas and research within robotics and automation. The initiative has an impressive track record when it comes to generating new products and companies focusing on new applications within industrial robotics, heavy autonomous vehicles and Technology for Independent Life. Development takes place in cooperation with researchers and companies such as ABB Robotics, Atlas Copco and Volvo.

- At the forum several successful projects will be displayed and end-users, entrepreneurs and companies will share their experiences, says Åsa Nordin, Deputy Director of Robotdalen.
