Analytics leader SAS has once again been lauded for its focus on employees, landing a top ten spot on Forbes’ list of America’s best employers. A pioneer in nurturing a supportive work environment, SAS is a national model for its inspiring workplace culture.

“At SAS, we set the bar high for our employees and give them a culture that offers them balance in their lives, while fostering innovation. If your employees feel good about their work and their work environment, they’re going to make your customers happy,” said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight.

SAS has long recognized the correlation between happy employees and business success. SAS employees are exceptionally loyal, which is a benefit to both SAS and its customers. SAS annually saves millions of dollars on recruitment and training costs associated with employee turnover, which remains significantly lower at SAS than the technology industry. As a result, SAS retains its experts and creates long-term, stable relationships that customers rely on. This virtuous cycle is what has kept SAS profitable for 40 years – since opening in 1976.

Forbes chose the top 500 employers based on the results of an independent survey conducted among 30,000 American employees working at large companies and institutions (headcount of 5,000 or more). Employees were contacted anonymously online without the involvement of their employer. Respondents represented the U.S. workforce by gender, age, region, education, and ethnicity.

SAS believes that encouraging employee creativity drives the innovation that helps SAS and its customers succeed. Recognized regularly on multiple best workplace rankings, SAS has been named a best workplace for millennials and recent graduates, as well as working parents, women and single fathers. SAS not only invests in employee career development, but also health and well-being through an array of services, programs and benefits.
