Summary of acquired Benechill Inc. patent portfolio

Braincool AB has recently acquired all assets and rights of the business of Benechill Inc. The acquisition included a complete patent portfolio.

The patent portfolio consists of 4 patent families, comprising of 7 patent applications that are currently pending in Europe, USA and Hong Kong, and 11 granted US Patents.

The patent families in general relate to devices for cooling the nasal cavity, cooling of localized areas of the body for cerebral blood flow augmentation, methods and devices for non-invasive cerebral and systemic cooling via the nasal cavity, as well as methods and devices for non-invasive cerebral and systemic cooling for treating patients with either stroke or cardiogenic shock caused by reduced cerebral perfusion or in the treatment of migraines.

-          The patent portfolio from Benechill has a number of synergies with the patent pending application of the BrainCool System. It will furthermore create a patent coverage for a long term extension into new areas and indications.
