Capacent “Supply Chain Trends & Challenges” survey is now completed.

In the beginning of the year Capacent gathered answers from 70 companies in the Nordic region about trends and challenges for the upcoming year regarding Supply Chain Management. The respondent companies accounted for a net sale representing about 10 % of Sweden’s gross domestic product and included both large scale operations and smaller businesses.

The industries represented by the respondent companies are:

- Wholesale and Retail

- Production and Manufacturing

- Construction and Waste Management

- Logistic Services

The findings in the study are based on respondents’ answers to questions related to the perspectives: Global Trends, Industry Drivers, Competition and Supply Chain Challenges. As top global trends impacting the business are increasing consumer service demand and growing environmental concern. This along with the top industry driver – increasing price pressure –indicates that customers continuously demand higher service and value from their suppliers.

The annual report is describing four main areas of findings connected to global trends impacting and driving the business of the respondent companies:

- Price Pressure vs. Service and Quantity

- Agility and Collaboration

- Outsourcing vs. Insourcing

- Sustainability
