Vrouw Maria Maritime Museum is a virtual museum, since November 29th 2009. It built on a virtual platform, similar to a homepage on Internet. There are a few exibitions open now, but these showcases are about how Vrouw Maria looked when she sailed and sunk on her last voyage to St. Petersburg with Catherine IIs art cargo treasure. The next phase will be about the paintings lost and images of contemporary copies of the very same works of art, planned to be opened in January 2010. The physical museum will be built later and will be a copy of the virtual version. The museum is open: Tuesdays-Sundays, Mondays closed. Entry fee: Free for the moment. Membership: Membership registered during 2009 is free of charge and is valid throughout 2010.
