Linköping, Sweden  November 23, 2016 – The German hospital group Gesundheit Nordhessen is investing in a medical IT solution from Sectra (STO: SECT B) for handling radiology images as well as non-radiology images across the group’s four hospitals. Sectra’s enterprise imaging solution (PACS and VNA) will improve the availability and simplify the communication of patient images. This makes it easier for radiologists and other physicians to carry out their daily work, thereby contributing to more efficient care. In addition, using one single system for image handling across several hospitals and multiple departments also enhances efficiency for the IT department.

Gesundheit Nordhessen Holding AG is a regional healthcare group and includes four hospitals as well as rehabilitation centers and senior residences. The hospital group is a regional market leader for acute care and the group offers health services for over 73,000 inpatients and 200,000 out-patients annually.

“With Sectra, we have found the most efficient enterprise imaging solution for us. The solution will enable our radiologists and physicians to work within the same system regardless of their location, sharing both information and workload. This will create significant progress towards our constant goal of improving patient care,” says PD Dr Thomas Lehnert, Head of the radiology department at Gesundheit Nordhessen.

About Sectra’s enterprise imaging solution
Sectra VNA and Sectra PACS for radiology, as purchased by Gesundheit Nordhessen, are key components of Sectra’s enterprise image management offering and allow consolidation of image handling, while ensuring clinical workflow efficiency in radiology.

Sectra’s complete enterprise imaging offering is modular and supports the most image-intense departments —radiology, pathology, cardiology and orthopaedics. Being built on the same technical platform, customers can easily extend a departmental solution to create a comprehensive VNA and enterprise image management solution without major investments or the replacement of existing components.
