Semcon has been appointed a class A supplier for technical consultancy services by Vattenfall for the 2011-2013 period, with the option of extending for a further year.  The agreement is for technical consultancy services for nuclear power, wind power and hydroelectric power to be carried out by specialists from all Semcon’s business areas.

In recent years Semcon has made strategic investments to alter its customer mix throughout the Group. For example, a lot of time has been spent focusing on expanding business in the energy sector.

“Being upgraded to a class A supplier by Vattenfall is proof that our joint expertise is in demand and that our offer is at the forefront in this area,” says Mats Körner, President of Semcon’s business area, Design & Development. “The agreement also gives us the opportunity of extending our total sales in the energy sector,” he continues.

A, B and C suppliers are the classifications Vattenfall uses when signing agreements with its various suppliers. The A classification is reserved for a small minority of companies, meaning they are prioritized suppliers.
