Serneke Civil Engineering rebuilds stretch of road in Skåne

Serneke Civil Engineering has signed an agreement with the Swedish Transport Administration for the reconstruction of road 798 between Esarp and Genarp in the southernmost Swedish province of Skåne. The project is valued at approximately SEK 28 million and will be included in order bookings for the first quarter of 2017.

The stretch of road between Esarp and Genarp is 5.6 kilometers long and is currently very narrow. This means that heavy vehicles must slow down or stop when they meet along the road.

By broadening and reinforcing the road, safety and accessibility will be enhanced. The civil engineering work will also encompass raising and realigning the road and reinforcing the existing road through built-up areas.

“It will be interesting to follow this project, in which we have selected a method that has been successful in similar projects. The project strengthens our presence in Skåne and it feels particularly gratifying to be able to carry out a project with the Swedish Transport Administration,” says Fredrik Jonsson, President of Serneke Civil Engineering.

Work on road 798 will commence in early April, and is expected to be completed in late November 2017.
