News Release

29th March 2012

DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln has teamed up with Streets Chartered Accountants & Tax Advisors and Langleys Solicitors LLP to launch a high-level business club aimed at company bosses.

The idea is to offer a chance for managing directors, chief executives, business leaders and directors to interact solely with their peers as opposed to similar events in the city which cater for all levels of staff.

DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln, which recently opened on Lincoln’s Brayford Wharf North, hosted the first invitation-only event on 7th March.

Helen Bell from Langleys Solicitors LLP explained: “The new business club, known as the Exec Club, is aimed at chief executives, managing directors and senior directors of Lincolnshire's most successful owned businesses – success being determined in terms of market leadership, innovation, turnover, profitability and management style.

“The club is not intended to be a networking event but has been set up to provide a forum for the ‘meeting of minds’ whereby key decision makers of the local economy are able to discuss business ideas openly with one another in convivial surroundings over dinner.”

James Pinchbeck, Marketing Partner from Streets Chartered Accountants, added: “In contrast to the many sales orientated network events across the county the Exec Club seeks to be a forum for sharing experiences and discussing the challenges facing business and organisations now and the future. The club will seek to engage with other organisations with participation from senior leaders from across the third sector, too.”

During the first ever meeting of the Exec Club, guests enjoyed a three-course meal and heard from guest speaker Richard Farrar from Brayford Hotels. Guests also had the opportunity to sample some of The Electric Bar & Restaurant’s finest single malts during a whisky tasting session.

This latest function follows several successful conferences held at the hotel in the past two months, including an Invest Lincolnshire networking event for property developers, the digital media conference LincUpLive and the Select Lincolnshire and Tastes of Lincolnshire Food and Drink Awards 2012.

Philip Walker, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln, said: “We wanted to facilitate a get-together for senior decision-makers who are at the director level within Lincolnshire’s most successful privately owned businesses.

“The Exec Club is a chance for those innovative business leaders in the county to get to know one another and find out more about how future relationships might be beneficial. We are hoping this will become a regular event in the city’s business calendar.”

The next Exec Club meeting is on 9th May 2012 at DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln. For further details, please contact Helen Bell on (01522) 508725.
