News release

28th May 2013

Golfers will be getting into the swing of fund-raising for charity when they do battle in the 23rd Duncan & Toplis Charity Golf Day at Belton Woods in July.

The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the Newark and Nottingham Child Bereavement and Loss Centre (Sue’s Place) will be the beneficiaries of the event, which is organised annually by leading chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis.

Businesses and supporters are encouraged to enter a team into the event, which will take place on Friday 5th July 2013.

The format of the event is teams of three and the Stableford scoring system will be used.

Ladies’, gentlemen’s and mixed teams all compete for the same prizes. There will be team prizes on each course as well as the Duncan & Toplis Shield which is held by the overall winner for one year.

Lisa Pask, a member of the organising committee, said: “Over the last 22 years our Charity Golf Day has raised more than £62,000 for a range of local charities.

“Everyone is looking forward to another enjoyable day on the greens and hoping to raise even more money for some very worthwhile causes.”

Bad weather caused the postponement of last year’s event, which was eventually held in September and won by D&T Boston C.

Entry for a team of three costs £180 which includes coffee on arrival, a sausage or bacon roll, 18 holes of golf, buffet lunch, a souvenir gift and the informal evening presentations.

If you would like to enter a team please contact Lisa Pask on 01476 591200 or email golf@duntop.co.uk. Entries close on Monday 24th June 2013.

If you are unable to enter a team but would like to sponsor a hole, send your name and contact details with a cheque for £50 made payable to Duncan & Toplis Golf Society Charity Account to 3 Castlegate, Grantham NG31 6SF. Sponsors will be able to provide their company logo to be displayed on a board at the tee box. All donations will go directly to the two charities.
