Sigma has entered a strategic partnership with Intershop, an internationally leading e-commerce software company. The purposes of collaboration is to be able to provide primarily the Nordic market with an enterprise e-commerce software wrapped in the delivery capacity and models of one of the Nordics leading system integrators and to jointly offer e-commerce on-demand to major clients worldwide.
"The initiative's objective is to establish Sigma as a leading player in e-commerce and associated processes," says Sigma CEO Håkan Karlsson. "Through collaboration with Intershop, opportunities are created for clients who want to work with a single supplier – a supplier that has both expertise in e-commerce and the capacity to conduct larger projects by taking responsibility for operation, administration and support 24/7 with global coverage.
"We'll offer major clients who are active in an international arena the security of having an implementer with delivery capacities for both the short- and long-terms," Håkan Karlsson adds. "We've also created an environment and delivery model for offering e-commerce functionality on Intershop's platform, which we assess as leading in the market, not only when it comes to scalability and performance - as a service. We'll also be partnering with other players along the value chain so that we can offer a complete process for e-commerce."
"We're proud to have been selected as a Sigma partner for e-commerce," says Intershop CEO Jochen Moll. "Our partnership is a perfect match of the highest quality in software and services. The partnership is a result of our strategy of expanding Intershop's partnering activities internationally. We're now beginning in the Nordic countries and at the same time, looking at potential expansion of our joint operations in the EMEA region so as to utilize Sigma's capacity to deliver infrastructure, and in doing so, providing Intershop as a service to new customers in Europe."
