Classic car lovers are in for a treat at the forthcoming Spring Sale hosted by Silverstone Auctions thanks to an incredible selection of cars with British connections.

Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar, Jensen, Lotus and Triumph are all among the home grown marques represented at the auction on 16th May at Silverstone race circuit.

Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “The collection of British classics on offer at the Spring Sale represents some of the finest cars produced in the UK.”

And while all the cars offer something unique there are perhaps a few worthy of special mention.

Heralding from a golden era of British motoring is a 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Fixedhead Coupe (Lot 158). This original righthand drive model has been estimated at between £35,000 to £40,000 and is finished in the very best colour combination of Cornish Grey with red leather interior.

Another Jaguar going under the hammer and just a few years younger is a truly stunning 1969 Jaguar 420 G (Lot 153), estimated at between £20,000 to £25,000, which has covered just 42,000 miles. Its history file is as comprehensive as can possibly be.

Also from the ‘swinging sixties’ is a pair of 1969 Lotus Elan’s. The S4 SE Cabriolet (Lot 141) has been estimated at between £20,000 to £25,000, while a S4 Fixedhead Coupe version (Lot 155), estimated at between £22,000 to £26,000, has been expertly restored from the ground up by Belgian marque specialists.

Jumping forward a decade and from 1979 there is a Jensen Interceptor III (Lot 138), estimated at £45,000 to £50,000, which has undergone a £75,000 restoration.

“This is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of the Jensen marque currently available anywhere in the world and it really has to be seen to be appreciated,” commented Nick.

Meanwhile, Bentley is surely synonymous with British class and elegance and from 1978 is a T2 (Lot 103), estimated at between £10,000 to £14,000. Electric seats, immaculate carpets, and original steering wheel all combine to ensure the cabin remains a lavish place to be.

Other lots up for auction at The Spring Sale include an assortment of race and rally cars, more modern supercars and a variety of automobilia.
