Sims Recycling Solutions Ranks Among Top Los Angeles Environmental Firms
Electronics recycler employs 60, earning company seventh-place ranking
Sims Recycling Solutions, the global leader in electronics reuse and recycling, is ranked the seventh largest environmental firm in Los Angeles County. The list, released by the Los Angeles Business Journal, uses the number of employees within Los Angeles County to determine the top 25 environmental companies in the area. Sims Recycling Solutions (Sims) was ranked based on its 60 workers employed in 2012 at its facility in Rancho Dominguez, Calif.
“Being recognized as a top environmental firm in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States is something we are very proud of,” stated Steve Skurnac, President of Sims Recycling Solutions. “This site has come a long way since opening in 2008 and it has been gratifying watching the facility grow in terms of volumes of recyclable equipment, employees and revenue”.
The fully certified electronics recycling facility provides asset management and end-of-life recycling services for local businesses and consumers. The 103,000 square-foot site offers comprehensive reuse and recycling solutions for retired electronic equipment.
Sims Recycling Solutions’ Los Angeles facility maintains certifications for responsible recycling, R2:2008, OHSAS 18001 health and safety management, ISO 14001 environmental management and is currently pursuing e-Stewards certification. Sims also demonstrates its commitment to the safety of all employees by maintaining strict internal safety standards that have been implemented at all Sims sites across the globe.
