BBC to screen First Orbit movie on its giant city centre “Big Screens” across the UK at 07.07 on 12 April 2011 to coincide with the exact time Yuri Gagarin’s original space mission first took place in 1961.


First Orbit - The Attic Room film by Christopher Riley shot entirely in space to recreate Yuri Gagarin’s pioneering flight into space 50 years ago will receive a planet wide premiere on youtube.com/firstorbit and as apart of the global 50th Anniversary celebrations the BBC will be showing the movie at 07.07 (BST) on it’s Big Screens located in Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Dover, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Norwich, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Swansea, Swindon and Walthamstow. The movie will then be screened again at 12.30 (lunch time) for those unable to see it in the morning.
