Today St James’s, London SW1 revealed its celebratory Diamond Jubilee wrap on Piccadilly in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It also heralds the forthcoming London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, when the eyes of the will be focused on the capital.

The giant 50 metre wrap, covering ongoing works at The Crown Estate’s landmark £100 million St James’s Gateway project, shows a graphic of a giant Union flag in shades of blue and white confetti, emblazoned with the words Happy. Glorious. Victorious.  The wrap overlooking Piccadilly is a striking welcome to the St James’s area where many Jubilee events will take place. Many of the shops and restaurants in St James’s will join in the celebratory activities and are expecting record numbers    of both UK and international visitors who will be arriving into London’s West End during H.R.H Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Edward Bodenham from Floris says, “It is wonderful to see The Crown Estate highlighting the importance of the St James's area for this monumental occasion. We applaud the idea of a giant Union Flag in time for Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee”. Floris has adapted their original 'Royal Arms' perfume, first created in 1926, to herald the birth of Princess Elizabeth when they held the Royal Warrant to George V. Royal Arms Diamond Edition Eau de Parfum is available from the Private Collection at £99 for 100ml.

As part of the celebration an inspiring display of giant union flags are decorating Jermyn Street.  Each flag is 4 x 2.5 metres in size and together they create a majestic view of one of the world’s most famous historical areas. Anthea Harries, The Crown Estate says, “We are delighted the flags and  the wrap have managed to create a glorious tribute to HRH Queen Elizabeth II.”
