Sivers IMA joins Telecom Infra Project
Sivers IMA today announces it has now joined the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) ( https://telecominfraproject.com) , a ground-breaking initiative co-chaired by Facebook and Deutsche Telecom, as part of the recently established mmWave Work Group.
The TIP initiative has, during its first year, attracted a vast number of companies, which aim to bring together expertise from technology companies that will help transform traditional telecom ecosystems by deploying new technologies and agile architecture.
During the recent TIP Summit in San Jose, more than 200 companies attended the second TIP Summit ever.
“Since millimeter wave, and in particular 60 GHz, plays a key role in the TIP initiative, it is natural for Sivers IMA to join this project. The whole project is a clear industry statement and proof point that our focus on 60 GHz RF cost efficient solutions with beamforming capabilities is fully in line with market demand”, says Anders Storm, CEO of Sivers.
The mmWave Group will define and advance 60GHz wireless networking solutions to address the growing demand for bandwidth in dense, highly-populated cities by delivering gigabits of capacity more quickly, easily and cost-effectively compared to deploying fiber.
The engineering effort will focus on creating a low-cost hardware design complemented with an innovative suite of software tools and best practices to help service providers and municipalities streamline and maximize mmWave deployments.
