Skanska builds hospital in Michigan, USA, for USD 175M, about SEK 1.5 billion

Skanska has, together with its joint venture partner Closner Construction, signed a contract with Duke LifePoint Healthcare to build its new replacement hospital for UP Health System - Marquette in Michigan, USA. The total contract is worth USD 206M. Skanska USA Building will include its share of the contract worth USD 175M, about SEK 1.5 billion, in the order bookings for the third quarter 2016.

The new 50,000-square-meter, 243-bed, replacement facility includes approximately 14,000 square meter of diagnostic and therapeutic services and 17,000 square meter of patient care services. Additionally, the project will include an adjoining medical office building and a parking structure.

Construction began in May 2016 and is slated for completion in October 2018.
