Skanska constructs flood protection in Wroclaw, Poland, for PLN 225 M, about SEK 416 M

Skanska has signed a contract with the Lower Silesian Board of Melioration and Water Structures in Wroclaw, Poland, to construct flood protection facilities, a railway bridge and three road bridges. The contract value is PLN 225 M, about SEK 416 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Poland for the third quarter of 2014.

Besides large amounts of land work the project includes construction of a flap weir, demolition and construction of four bridges and road work.

The project work will start in the beginning of next year and will be completed in September 2016.

Skanska Poland, one of the largest construction companies in Poland, had sales of 8.6 billion SEK in 2013. The company has about 7,300 employees. Skanska Commercial Development, Skanska Residential Development and Skanska Infrastructure Development are also active in Poland.
