Skanska widens the E4 highway north of Stockholm for SEK 320 M Skanska has been awarded a design-construct contract for widening the E4 highway between Rotebro and Upplands Väsby north of Stockholm. The contract is valued at approximately SEK 320 M. The customer is the Stockholm Region of the National Road Administration. The agreement also includes a number of options for the project, which may result in an increase in the final contract by an additional SEK 400 M. The project is designed to reduce traffic congestion due to growing capacity problems in the Stockholm area. Traffic flows will be improved by widening a highway sector of approximately five kilometers from four lanes to six. The design-construct contract will start in August, and the entire project will be completed in 2004.
