Customers use Software AG’s API management technology to open new business channels by building a developer portal to access their API’s, securely hosting these API’s and managing their entire lifecycle
August 19, 2013 – Software AG announced it was positioned by Gartner, Inc., a leading industry analyst firm, in the Leaders Quadrant of the newly created Magic Quadrant for Application Services Governance*. Vendors were evaluated based on both their completeness of vision and ability to execute in the SOA Governance and API management markets.
Gartner’s evaluation of Software AG is primarily based on its Application Services Governance offerings from the webMethods product line. It includes CentraSite, which is the industry’s leading registry and repository for managing IT assets; webMethods Mediator for service mediation and runtime policy enforcement; webMethods Insight for service monitoring and management, and webMethods Enterprise Gateway for secure and managed access to backend services.
“Customers are not only looking for a comprehensive technology partner for the entire SOA lifecycle and API management," said Dr. Wolfram Jost, Software AG’s Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Management Board, “but also they are looking for a partner to help them achieve powerful results and competitive business advantages. We believe Software AG’s placement in the Leaders Quadrant clearly speaks of our strong record of execution in this regard with established products and services and a commitment to customer satisfaction.”
With a world-wide customer base, Software AG’s SOA Governance technology is allowing commercial enterprises as well as Federal, State and Local agencies to deliver new applications faster, keep up with business needs and improve cross-domain processes. These organizations have deep visibility into what services are available for re-use. Loosely coupled services instead of monolithic systems allow them to be more agile in reacting to business demands and automating new processes.
Globally organizations are establishing API platforms to amplify the value of their unique data and capabilities. They are using them to reach new markets, create additional revenue streams and on-board the long-tail of partners. Powered by webMethods, Software AG’s API Management technology is helping many organizations expose their APIs securely to app developers. They are able to manage the lifecycle of APIs, create a custom developer portal and monitor API usage and performance.
Unlike other solutions in the market, with Software AG’s technology organizations can manage the entire life cycle of APIs, implement a single solution for both internal and external APIs and rapidly scale their deployments with in-built caching based on Terracotta.
