Bedford Labs Issues Dangerous Drug Recall for Cytarabine

Report this content

Bedford Laboratories issued a recall for three lots of its leukemia drugcytarabine.

According to the Coshocton Tribune, the recall was issued because an investigation of the manufacturing area revealed that the drug may not be sterile. The three lots have expiration dates from March to May of 2014.

Cytarabine is a chemotherapy drug that several other manufacturers stopped making due to a lack of raw materials or quality issues, which created a shortage of the drug.
