Visitors are invited to explore the New Forest through photography, film and gaming at an innovative new exhibition by Southampton Solent University lecturer, Julian Konczak, at the Visitors Centre Gallery in Lyndhurst, this autumn.

Hampshire-based artist and filmmaker has spent the last year creating an interactive map of exploratory walks through the New Forest using photography, film and interactive media. Set against the backdrop of musician and sound designer Natalia Data’s reworking of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Forest – A Trip Out brings the changing landscapes and shifting seasons to vivid life.

“The exhibition invites visitors to engage with the landscape in new and unexpected ways, using imaging technologies,” says Julian Konczak.

As well as the changing landscape, the history and stories beyond the trees are a significant part of the work. Southampton-based author of the critically acclaimed England’s Lost Eden, Philip Hoare, has contributed an essay to the project.

The exhibition also includes an artist’s talk where processes behind the work will be examined and a workshop in time-lapse photography techniques that feature within the work. Both are open to the public. For more information visit www.theinteractiveforest.com

The exhibition is now open and runs until 23 November 2013 at the Visitors Centre Gallery in Lyndhurst.
