Go Ginger Nuts for new Catering Pack
With the interest and enthusiasm for baking at an all-time high, there is a growing trend for hand-baked goods in store whether it’s biscuits, puddings, cakes or confectionery. As a response to this baking phenomenon, Opies Foodservice has announced the launch of a new catering sized pack for their popular Stem Ginger in Syrup.
Opies Foodservice carefully select young stem ginger from China. The ginger is soft and succulent with a rich, sweet, ginger-infused syrup, which can also be used in dishes or drizzled over desserts for extra spice. The Stem Ginger is packed into a food-grade 1.8kg jar with resealable lid. With convenient ambient storage, once opened it can be refrigerated and used within 4 weeks.
Opies themselves have embraced the country’s passion for baking, engaging the services of former The Great British Bake Off contestant Kate Henry. Kate, who was a contestant in last year’s show, has devised a number of ginger-inspired recipes using Opies’ signature ginger range.
Kate’s recipes use a selection of the Opies range, but mainly have a ginger-bias and include:
Ginger & Lime Drizzle Cake, Black Forest Cheesecake, Firecracker Bonfire Toffee, Ginger & Chocolate Panna Cotta, Steamed Vanilla Sponge with a Spiced Ginger Custard and a festive Ginger Christmas Cake.
