Hip ‘Hippo’ Hurrah for new confectionery from Barú
New crafted luxury marshmallows join Barú’s contemporary confectionery range. The new seasonal collection of ‘non-chocolate’ marshmallows includes boxed and bar varieties in six flavours: Vanilla Bean, Toasted Coconut, Sea Salt Caramel, Blueberry & Basil, Strawberry & Cacao and Raspberry & Mint.
The new marshmallows have been carefully developed to showcase Barú’s contemporary innovation and also to reflect current flavour trends. The new range uses natural ingredients such as dried raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and basil and key ingredients like Sea Salt Caramel and Toasted Coconut are prepared in small batches to ensure a consistent, high quality finish.
The new Strawberry & Cacao marshmallow has something of a retro feel, inspired by childhood memories of layered ‘Neapolitan’ ice-cream. To ensure equal layers, this hand-crafted marshmallow is a labour of love as it is poured three times before the final marshmallow is hand-cut into generous pieces.
Referred to as ‘clouds’, due to their soft texture and light eat, Barú’s marshmallows are hand-crafted in Belgium and made to a carefully developed recipe that includes real honey and ground vanilla pods. Each mallow is handcrafted and cut and packed into a 60g box and has a RSP of £3.25.
The new flavours perfectly complements Barú’s existing, popular range of marshmallows that are generously coated in rich, Belgian chocolate. All marshmallows are individually wrapped so they can be indulged all at once or saved for later!
Barú also makes fantastic swirly chocolate drink powders; White Chocolate Latte, Salty Caramel Hot Chocolate, Peppermint Hot Chocolate, Swirly Chocolate Powder & Figurines, Fluffy Marshmallow Chocolate Powder and chai drink powders; Spicy Chai Latte, Chocolate Chai Latte and Vanilla Chai Latte. The drinking powders go back to basics using the finest quality Belgian chocolate for an indulgent drink. The spices for the chai range are specially selected and ground to a very small sieve size to ensure that all of the taste comes from the spices. The drinking chocolates have also been designed to be a fun experience with added moulded chocolate pieces (hat, car, moustache, star, moon…) that slowly melt into the hot milk. Completing the range for Christmas are super-cute gifts featuring Barús character Hippo. The bags are filled with individually wrapped hippo-shaped chocolates. Available in two gift packs, a small blue handbag with assorted milk chocolates and small pink handbag with dark chocolate with sea salt caramel. RRP £5.79.
