SURVIVAL SKILLS AT PORT ELIOT

Report this content

This year the woodlands surrounding the Port Eliot Festival in Cornwall will play host to a number of Survival Wisdom workshops.

Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to get hands-on as they learn how to make fire, signal for rescue and find food and water whilst they are walked through different scenarios.

The sessions will provide the ins and outs of how to navigate, find shelter, survive and flourish in the most testing of environments.

Children and families will also be delighted to hear that Survival Wisdom Schools will also be running a ‘Pirate School’.

Richard Pyshorn FRGS, Managing Director at Survival Wisdom said: “It is our first year at the festival and I am really looking forward to it. If you are at the Port Eliot please pop down and visit one of our free tasters, it will be loads of fun for the whole family”.

Survival Wisdom is a Cornish company that provides tailored outdoor survival courses, helping clients to not only survive but to thrive in the wild.

The courses - aimed at people of all ages and walks of life – vary from half day sessions to five day expeditions. The aim is to equip people with practical skills essential in survival as well as personal skills: confidence, resilience and self-belief.

The company has had some very high profile clients; recently working with a member of foreign Royalty as well as Hollywood star Teri Hatcher from Desperate Housewives.

Although typically based in Cornwall, Survival Wisdom operates across the globe and courses can be set up anywhere.
