AlihankintaHEAT, a networking event for industrial companies and startups, will take place on Tuesday 26 September as part of the Subcontracting Trade Fair in Tampere. Now held for the second time, the event will fill Hall B with the stands of over twenty startups and partners. Interesting programme will be held for the entire day from 9 am until 7 pm.  AlihankintaHEAT will kick off Subcontracting Trade Fair with hosting the official opening ceremony of Subcontracting Trade Fair and ending it with an evening party. AlihankintaHEAT is free for all trade fair visitors. AlihankintaHEAT topics will also be discussed in the new Heat Corner.

“Last year AlihankintaHEAT got off to a good start and now we see it even more clearly that there is a need for encounters between startups and industrial companies. Startups have the enthusiasm and desire to show that by utilising their expertise many companies could take successful digital and other leaps more easily and quickly. When the aim is to create new business, develop operations and improve productivity, bold experiments and hot activities are often the best way forward. This is what we want to emphasize at HEAT. It is definitely worthwhile to visit the event to hear the inspiring speakers and to do some networking,” says Tanja Järvensivu, Event and Communications Manager for Tampere Trade Fairs.

17 startups and 14 partners at AlihankintaHEAT – main partner is Tekes

HEAT has 14 partners who want to be involved in the positive change of direction within industrial sectors. The main partner is Tekes and the challenge partners are Toyota Material Handling Finland Oy and Gronlund Palvelut Oy whose challenges were tackled by some of the startups at the innovation event HeatCamp. The other partners are DIMECC, FiBAN, Nordea, Pirkanmaan Yrittäjät, PwC, Salomäki Oy, Smart Tampere ecosystem programme / City of Tampere, Tampere Chamber of Commerce, Tampere Trade Fairs, Tampere Startup Hub and Twinkle.

“A leap in internationalisation among startups and SMEs can be achieved by utilising a variety of skills in an open-minded way. For Tekes, the role of the main partner at AlihankintaHEAT is a meaningful way to be involved in creating an increasingly important partnership network between the participating companies,” says Nuppu Rouhiainen, Programme Manager of the Liideri programme at Tekes.

HEAT is an excellent window-shop for startups – HeatCorner is full of activity on all three days

The startups taking part in AlihankintaHEAT are Citynomadi Oy, Dtream Oy, Eatech Oy, eeedo Oy, Innorent Production Oy, Lennahc / Aalto University, Mattester Oy, Meluta Oy, Nopia Oy, Pinovuo Oy, PrivacyMap.eu / Agendium Oy, Radientum Oy, Steamlane Oy, Trackinno Oy, Treon Oy, TreSolver Oy and UnSeen Technologies Oy. Some of the startups got together at HeatCamp in August to find solutions to the challenges of two companies.

“When we set our challenge last year, we were not looking for a solution to a specific problem. Our aim was to find out what kind of innovative technology companies there are in Finland and how their expertise could be utilised in internal logistics in our industry. We achieved our aim as now we know a lot more about the companies and solutions that are available. Some of the companies attracted the interest of our European product development centre in Sweden. I believe that HEAT is an excellent shop window for startups and we felt that it was a good idea to be a challenge partner again. HEAT definitely deserves to be part of the Subcontracting Trade Fair,” says Pasi Nieminen, Managing Director of Toyota Material Handling Finland Oy.

“I am so excited that we took part in HEAT. There are a lot of industrial companies, but the event is also suitable for service industry companies. This is an excellent opportunity for us to develop our operations in an entirely new way. Digitalisation is also strongly becoming a part of our industry, so I am looking forward to hearing the suggestions and ideas. The project has started well and I firmly believe that our collaboration will continue and as a result we will have concrete tools for developing our services as well as good new partnerships,” says Tiina Holopainen, Managing Director of Gronlund Palvelut Oy.

“AlihankintaHEAT's innovation power will ensure your company's growth. HEAT brings together established and new companies and generates new partnerships. The event gives momentum to commercial activities – there is strength in collaboration,” says the managing director of one of the startups, Jari Saukko of Meluta Oy.

“At HeatCamp, the encounters between startups and other companies produce innovations for new business. In the future, companies should take even more advantage of the opportunities HEAT offers for collaboration,” says Marjo Matikainen-Kallström, Chief Acceleration Officer of Rapid Action Group Oy, who has supported many startups.

As a novelty in the main lobby is HeatCorner, where all of AlihankintaHEAT's content and partners are featured throughout the trade fair. AlihankintaHEAT will also be held on the opening day next year, in other words on 25 September 2018. The Subcontracting Trade Fair will also celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2018. HEAT is organised by Finland Events in cooperation with Rapid Action Group.
