Taylor & Francis and the Higher Education Academy (HEA) are delighted to announce a new journal publishing partnership.

Published by Taylor & Francis, Edited by Professor Carol Evans of the University of Southampton, and sponsored by the Higher Education Academy; Higher Education Pedagogies will aim to identify, promote and publish excellence and innovations in the practice and theory of teaching and learning in and across all disciplines in higher education.

The new journal will provide an international forum for the sharing, dissemination and discussion of research, experience and perspectives across a wide range of teaching and learning issues, and will prove to be essential reading for all those who wish to stay informed of state-of-the-art teaching and learning developments in higher education.

Higher Education Pedagogies will focus on disciplinary pedagogies and learning experiences; the higher education curriculum, i.e. what is taught and how it is developed and enhanced including both skills and knowledge; the delivery of the higher education curriculum; how it is taught and how students learn, and academic development; the role of teaching and learning in the development of academic careers and its place within the profession.

The new journal will continue the body of work as established by the HEA’s original journals publishing programme.

Dr Mark Jones, chief operating officer of the HEA, said, “We are delighted to partner with Taylor & Francis and to sponsor the publication of this new journal under the editorship of Professor Carol Evans. We fully expect that the journal will bring significant benefits to the academic community by highlighting ideas and best practice in learning and teaching in individual disciplines as well reflecting effective interdisciplinary practice.”

About the HEA

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is the national body for learning and teaching in higher education. We work with universities and other higher education providers to bring about change in learning and teaching. We do this to improve the experience that students have while they are studying, and to support and develop those who teach them. Our activities focus on rewarding and recognising excellence in teaching, bringing together people and resources to research and share best practice, and by helping to influence, shape and implement policy - locally, nationally, and internationally.
The HEA has knowledge, experience and expertise in higher education. Our service and product range is broader than any other competitor.
