New York and Stockholm - February 25, 2000 - NetCom AB ("NetCom") (Nasdaq Stock Market: NECS), the leading provider of telecommunication services in the Nordic countries, the Baltic region and Poland, today announced that it will lower its evening and weekend tariffs for a number of Comviq and Tele2Mobile subscriptions and prepaid cards. The new tariffs will be effective from March 1, 2000. On April 1, a call initiation charge for each call will be introduced for these subscriptions and prepaid cards.
The new evening and weekend tariff for the affected subscriptions and prepaid cards will be 0.75 SEK (incl VAT) per minute. The new call initiation charge will be 0.40 SEK (incl VAT) per call. The subscriptions not affected by these changes are "Comviq Dag", "Comviq Kväll",
"Comviq Kväll med pott" and the Comviq Millennium Prepaid card. The evening and weekend tariff for Comviq Millennium will be lowered to 0.40 SEK per minute.
Fredrik Berglund, Marketing Director of NetCom stated "With this price reduction we confirm our position as price leaders on the Swedish GSM market. Many of our different subscriptions already have a very low tariff, 0.40 SEK, during evenings and weekends. With this price reduction the evening and weekend tariffs for most other subscriptions becomes 0.75 SEK. When we introduce our opening fee on the same price level as Telia's opening fee it will become easier for consumers and corporations to compare our subscriptions and se who has the lowest tariffs."
