FAMILY CAMPING SUMMER BOOKINGS BOOM

With the school holidays in full swing, The Camping and Caravanning Club has seen a large increase in the number of families planning a holiday in the great outdoors this summer.

The Club has recorded a massive 58 per cent increase in family bookings for August compared to the same time in 2012, and with more good weather promised, this positive trend is only expected to continue.

There’s never been a better time to enjoy one the nation’s favourite pastimes. Evidence collated by leading academics at Liverpool John Moores University on behalf of the Club, revealed that 87 per cent of children say that camping in the countryside makes them feel really happy.

Additionally, 91 per cent of children say they enjoy spending time exploring the outdoors with their parents.

And with 110 Club Sites and 19 Camping in the Forest Sites to choose from, each located in idyllic locations across the UK, the Club certainly caters for all holidaymakers. But it is refusing to rest on its laurels and is continuously developing and investing in its members.

The Club recently unveiled its new Loch Ness Shores Site, which is located on the south shore of the world famous loch, and is set to have a new Club Site at Margam Country Park in South Wales open for the start of next season.

The Club also has an on-going network development programme in place, allowing it to strengthen its campsite portfolio and offer high standards for campers, at great value for money.

Currently, a member’s family deal for two adults and up to four children, costs £25-£30 per night for a standard pitch on a Club Site in high-season.

Robert Louden MBE, the Club’s Director General, said: "Camping and caravanning continues to be en vogue, with the recent good weather bringing holidaymakers out in their thousands.

"Despite the camping and caravanning boom, there are pitches still available giving everyone the chance to explore the great outdoors this summer."
