Fashion Designer and Television Personality Launches Crowd Funding Campaign to Produce the First Fan-Supported Fashion Show
Los Angeles, CA (August 1, 2012) – Whitney Port is debuting her Whitney Eve Spring 2013 collection in the first-ever fan-funded show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York utilizing a crowd-funding initiative. Port has taken to her fans and supporters to be an integral part of the process and learn firsthand what it takes to produce a runway show of this caliber. With a goal to raise $50,000, contributions will be put toward the production of the show.
“Often times, I have fans asking me how they can break into the fashion business or how they can learn more about runway show production. I think this campaign is a great way to provide my fans a behind-the-scenes experience on how a large show is designed, developed, and executed,” said Port.
