Versatile stand reduces the risk of RSI, neck and shoulder strain associated with tablet use

London, UK – July 2nd, 2014 – Octa™ (http://www.octa.com), a creator of innovative tablet accessories, today announced the UK launch of the TabletTailTM: Whale Kit in the UK. The Whale Kit—a dual-purpose handle and stand— joins the popular Monkey Kit in the range of tablet accessories designed to improve the convenience and comfort of tablet use.

Grips your tablet on the go

The Whale Kit is a tablet grip comprised of two parts.  The Vacuum Dock, which uses industrial-grade vacuum suction to hold any tablet firmly, provides an ergonomic base that encourages natural, relaxed hand posture.  The WhaleTail connects to the Vacuum Dock.  Its flexible fins and tail bend to the shape of your hand, providing added grasp.  The Whale Kit is ideal for giving tablet-enabled presentations or for securing your device on a crowded Tube platform.

Stands sturdy in any environment

The Whale Kit transforms instantly into a tablet stand that is sturdy in any environment.  The WhaleTail works on soft and uneven surfaces, like pillows and armchairs, where portfolio cases topple.  The WhaleTail adjusts to any angle and can be used in portrait or landscape position.  Users enjoy hands-free comfort while reading, watching movies, or chatting by video.

Helps avoid i-injuries

As tablet use has become more ubiquitous, people have begun reporting Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) symptoms from prolonged tablet use. Research by Dr Jack Dennerlain (1), professor of Ergonomics and Safety at Harvard University, shows that tablet use can encourage postures that put strain on the neck and shoulders. He recommends that tablet users change their position regularly and that they use a hands-free device whenever possible.  Both the Whale Kit and the Monkey Kit encourage hands-free use and provide a range of viewing angles that allow a neutral head position.
