Tap House Grill Addictive Food/Creative Brews serves up outstanding opportunity for owner-operators

Tap House Grill Addictive Food/Creative Brews, an eclectic gastropub with a unique twist on American comfort food and an exclusive, rotating selection of dozens of craft beers on tap, is launching a franchising program targeting the Midwest first, with national expansion to follow.

Executives created the THG Franchise Group this year to provide thorough training, support and marketing guidance for franchise owners and operators.

“We have been developing this idea for a decade and now we’re ready to aggressively expand through franchising,” said founder Scott Ward. “We’ve combined a scratch kitchen with a great beer menu and an exhilarating atmosphere and events schedule.” 

Ward and his co-founder and business partner Mark Zych bring 50 years of combined restaurant management and operation experience, having opened and developed dozens of restaurants. The two worked together at Bar Louie, where Ward served as chief operating officer for more than a decade.

“There is a high demand for craft beer and the trend continues to grow,” said Zych. “Tap House Grill aims to match the creativity and quality of craft brewers with an inventive menu. That is how we ended up being known for addictive food and creative brews.”

The Tap House Grill Addictive Food/Creative Brews concept is designed to capitalize on the strong growth of the craft beer market, providing franchise owners a strong support system and a welcoming environment with food and drink that lives up to the concept’s tagline, serving items like Drunken Shrimp, Crispy Fried Bacon or the Grilled Chicken and Wild Mushroom Press with a truffle aoli. There are dozens of craft beers on tap in each location ranging from classic pilsners, to IPAs, barrel-aged stouts to ciders, and 22 oz. bombers. And, Tap House Grill Addictive Food/Creative Brews includes a wine list to appeal to every taste and price point, plus specialty cocktails for the ambitious, with original concoctions like Peach Lightning and the Tap House Mule.

With a franchise owner-operator slated to take on a location in the southwest suburbs of Illinois and another agreement being finalized in Springfield, Illinois, the THG Franchise Group is on its way to having several franchise owners within its system by the end of the year.
