Fine dining and frostbite at the East Midlands Chamber Annual Dinner with RDS Global
With tales of Artic exploration and gangrene, the 2016 East Midlands Chamber Annual Dinner turned into an inspiring evening for the lucky guests, thanks to IT experts RDS Global.
With a hugely motivational talk, by the ‘World’s Greatest Living Explorer’ Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE, and a key note speech by Rt. Hon Anna Soubry, the gathering at the Roundhouse in Derby’s city centre turned into the must attend event of the year for the local business community.
The leading supplier of tailored IT solutions to the automotive retail sector, RDS Global supported the evening by bringing Ranulph Fiennes to the Midlands. Covering his expulsion from the SAS, the dangers of frostbite when traversing the tundra and what’s needed to conquer Everest at the age of 65, his talk lasted about 90 minutes and went down a storm.
Ahead of the explorer taking the stage, the Rt Hon Anna Soubry, MP for Broxtowe and Minister of State (Minister for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise) for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, delivered the event’s key note speech. Talking of her pride in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Midlands businesses coming together, she emphasised the positive contribution that the region was making to the national economy in general.
