  • Government campaign to promote the very best of Britain
  • Aston Martin among leading brands contributing to creative show
  • Leaders in fashion, art & design and couture to exhibit

Luxury automotive event Salon Privé has teamed up with the GREAT Britain campaign, the Government’s high-profile, international marketing initiative, to showcase Britain as a world leader in creativity, industry, tourism, and education.

As part of the campaign, Salon Privé will host a special viewing of ‘GREAT Creations’, a unique exhibition bringing the variety of UK creativity to life.

Visitors to the event on 3-5 September, at the baroque Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, will enjoy a spectacular display showcasing the breadth of British originality and vision. Covering a wide spectrum of topics, ranging from a specially designed Aston Martin Rapide S to a unique GREAT Mulberry handbag, the exhibition will proudly display the very best of what Britain has to offer.

Highlights of the exhibition include:

  • Four iconic portrait photographs by David Bailey of Her Majesty the Queen
  • A handcrafted couture dress designed exclusively for GREAT by British designer Nicholas Oakwell; the making of the gown took a total of 2,320 hours of work from Britain’s leading needleworkers and seamstresses
  • A GREAT Mulberry handbag designed by leading British model Cara Delevingne, in the brand’s signature Oak Natural Leather and embossed with a Union Kack emblem
  • A bespoke ‘GREAT Britain’ engraved handcrafted watch by Roger W Smith, which took 10 months to design and build, representing the pinnacle of British mechanical watchmaking.

Aston Martin, who will be displaying the recently revealed DB9 GT, as well the GT12, V12 Vantage S and Vanquish Volante at Salon Privé, is also collaborating with GREAT on a special edition Rapide S. This one-off model uses a subtle interpretation of the Union Jack flag on its exterior, as well as featuring the GREAT logo on the inside stitching and metal plaques on the sills. It is also accompanied by an Aurora Blue leather luggage case by Tustings.

“We are thrilled that the GREAT Creations exhibition will be presenting the best of British at this year’s Salon Privé, which is proud to describe itself as a distinctly British event,” commented Andrew Bagley, Salon Privé managing director.

“Not only do we have the unique Aston Martin Rapide S for car enthusiasts, but a host of other top lifestyle brands displaying one-off editions to support this outstanding government campaign.”
