Veidekke to build more homes at Løren in Oslo
Veidekke Entreprenør has signed a contract with Lørenvangen Utvikling AS , which is jointly owned by OBOS Nye Hjem and Veidekke Eiendom, to build the third stage of the Gartnerkvartalet residential development. The stage comprises one building with a total of 46 homes and an associated underground parking garage. The value of the contract is NOK 100 million excluding VAT.
Sales have been very good for Gartnerkvartalet, and construction is well under way on the first two buildings. The overall sales ratio for Gartnerkvartalet is approx. 70%, and the first residents will take up occupation in the summer of 2018. Gartnerkvartalet is an extension of the neighbouring Gartnerløkka project, and when completed it will comprise a total of 540 homes in seven blocks of flats built in several stages. The total sales value of the homes in Gartnerkvartalet is around NOK 2.5 billion.
The seven blocks of flats will surround a large, sunny courtyard nearly 10,000 square metres in size with bushes, trees and allotment gardens. There is a broad selection of 2, 3, and 4 room flats, where most flats on the ground floor will have spacious terraces, and some with their own garden plot.
As an extension of the green image, live planted walls will cover the entrance areas. As far as we know, this is the first new housing project with such a planted wall, which creates both well-being and a better indoor environment.
Excavation work for the third building stage starts just after the new year, and the contract for the building will be celebrated by lighting up a Christmas crane on the site on 30 November.
