Since September 11, 2001, over 2 million servicemen and women have been deployed to defend our freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since the war began, more than 50,000 have been wounded; over 1,600 have suffered major limb amputations, traumatic brain injuries or spinal cord injuries so severe that their lives would be changed forever. Today, Visioneer is proud to announce that Homes for Our Troops was the beneficiary of Visioneer’s Where There Is A Need Program last quarter.

Homes for Our Troops exists to restore the gift of freedom and independence to our nation’s most severely injured veterans through the gift of a specially adapted home. They are strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries. They assist severely injured Veterans and their families by coordinating the process of building a home that provides maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. The homes provided by Homes for Our Troops are given at no cost to the Veterans.

“In our discussions to select a charity for last quarter, we began thinking about the anniversary of 911 and how we could help some of the incredible heroes that have kept our country safe,” said Greg Elder, Visioneer’s CFO and Sustainability Officer. “Homes for Our Troops is a wonderful organization and Visioneer is proud to support them.”

About Where There Is A Need
Where There Is A Need is a philanthropic program that helps worthy organizations across the globe that provide assistance to people and places in need. For every customer who registers a Visioneer or Xerox® DocuMate® scanner, Visioneer will donate $1 to an international disaster relief, cause, or environmental program each quarter on their behalf.  Both Visioneer and our customers can now have a direct impact on helping individuals in need around the world.

“The goal of Where There Is A Need is to embrace responsibility for our company’s actions and encourage a positive impact through our activities on the people that develop, manufacture and sell our products, the businesses and families that use our products, and the communities and environment we all live and work in,” added Elder.  “It is our goal that Visioneer’s social responsibility is not merely words on our website, but a fundamental part of how we conduct our business, make decisions, and set our priorities.”

How Our Customers Can Help
Customers can easily register their scanner at www.visioneer.com or www.xeroxscanners.com  clicking on the “Register Your Product” link, and filling out a short form.  Registering a new scanner will also keep customers current on special product offerings, tips on how to best use their scanner, driver updates, and to receive all warranty benefits.  To keep up with the current need that is being helped each quarter by this program, visit www.visioneer.com/wheretheresaneed or follow us on Facebook.
