PLEASANTON, Calif., May 16, 2013 – The celebration flags were hung; the finish line glittered with paparazzi photographing the triumphant runners as they crossed and spectators cheered. It was a beautiful day that suddenly became horrific with clouds of debris. But amid the smoke and confusion, something beautiful glowed: heroism and unity. Today, Visioneer is proud to announce that this quarter the One Fund Boston™ is going to be the beneficiary of Visioneer’s “Where There Is A Need Program.”

Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino is quoted on the One Fund Boston website as saying, “We are one Boston. We are one community. As always, we will come together to help those most in need. And in the end, we will all be better for it.”

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon, and ranks as one of the world's best-known road racing events. The One Fund Boston was created at the request of Mayor Menino and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. The Victim Relief Fund of The One Fund Boston will be used to assist those families of the victims who were killed and the victims who were most seriously affected as a result of the tragic events during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013 and related events on April 18th and April 19th. One hundred percent of every donation goes directly to support victims and their families.

“Boston is a strong and proud city that comes together in moments of tragedy and celebration throughout its history,” said John Capurso, president and chief operating officer at Visioneer.  “The focus since the bombings has been on families who lost loved ones and on the care of the injured, helping them adapt to their new lives.  Having lived my life in the greater Boston area, I am delighted and proud that Visioneer has chosen The One Fund this quarter.”
