Silverskär’s Conference & Hotel Island in Saltvik is extending its services to a nearby island using a modern but traditional-style concept.

Its current building project on the island of Östra Klobben includes ten cottages and one ”Saltarbod” cottage with joint facilities for meetings and get-togethers for approximately thirty persons, and a wood-heated sauna by the seashore. The genuine archipelago cottages are simple in style and they are built using traditional materials in an artesan way.

-We want to offer our guests a genuine experience of being close to nature, sea and sky. We also wish that our guests can sense and taste the life of yesterday’s archipelago fishing camps where the islanders went fishing for Baltic herring, says Silverskär’s host and site manager Johan Mörn.

Hotel Cikada in Mariehamn will get four new suites in spring 2016.

-We have built an additional top floor at our hotel to satisfy our guests’ wishes and higher demands of comfort. Families as well as many couples ask for more comfortable and spacious rooms. Thus our new suites are excellent for families and smaller groups. The top floor balconies offer fantastic views of sunset, s/v Pommern and the inlet of Mariehamn’s Western harbour, says Christian Linde, Hotel Cikada’s hotel manager.
