BIOLEDGE project creates new tools for development of biotechnical applications

The new 4-year EU project BIOLEDGE coordinated by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland focuses on computational modeling and prediction of protein production which is most important for example in pharmaceutical production and industrial biotechnology.

The aim of the project is to develop bioinformatics tools that will accelerate the use of newly generated data in industrial biotechnology, open new opportunities for the industry and benefit the participating SMEs as tool providers or end users.

Project partners: VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Norway Bioinformatics S.L. (Spain), Techila Technologies Oy (Finland), University of Malaga (Spain), c-LEcta GmbH (Germany), University of Helsinki, University of Cambridge (UK). The project is coordinated by Research Professor Matej Orešič from VTT.

Total budget of the project is 3.9 Million €, of which VTT budget is 1.34 Million €.
