Wallenstam has been presented with the World in Property Award, for its comprehensive environmental work. The prize was awarded yesterday at the Property Gala event (Fastighetsgalan), which is described as a nationwide award, given to a company or project, which makes, or will make, an extraordinary impression in the Swedish property market.

The nomination read as follows:

“The company has been self-sufficient in renewable energy for a number of years. Today the company has 64 wind turbines around the country, where its subsidiary Svensk NaturEnergi offers 100 percent green electricity at an attractive price. In the basic design of its new construction projects, the company builds properties with an energy consumption of about 60 kWh per sq m/year, which is lower than both the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulations and the energy consumption in low energy buildings.”

This prize is a wonderful acknowledgement for us that we are on the right track with our environmental efforts − where Svensk NaturEnergi as a subsidiary and investment constitutes a large and key part combined with our environmental thinking in new construction and property management. I am proud of our conscious environmental work and that we are self-sufficient in renewable electricity from our own wind turbines,” says Hans Wallenstam, CEO.

Fastighetsgalan is arranged by World in Property in conjunction with Lokalguiden. According to the description of the World in Property Award, the prize-winner should demonstrate visionary thinking, belief in the future, courage and public benefit in its work with urban development projects either in the housing area or in the commercial sector.
