Wallenstam is now starting two new construction projects in Mölndal involving almost 200 apartments in total − 109 apartments in Stallbacken and 90 modular apartments in the Södra Porten area east of the E20 motorway. The modular apartments are part of a previously entered into agreement with Mölndal Municipality and are covered by a 10-year temporary building permit.

“Through these two new construction projects, we will add another block to the popular Stallbacken area and at the same time make a positive contribution to solving the municipality’s need for more housing in the short- and long term,” says Marina Fritsche, respsonsible for the Gothenburg business area at Wallenstam.

With the start of construction of the 109 apartments in Stallbacken under the project name Nivå 5, Wallenstam has built 600 apartments in the area. All properties are supplied with green wind power and all rental apartments were built according to Sweden Green Building Council’s silver rating. The architect’s office for Nivå 5 is Erséus Arkitekter and the contractor is Bergman & Höök. Occupation is expected by October 2019.

So far, tenants have moved into 188 of Wallenstam’s newly constructed apartments in Stallbacken. Based on the customer survey, which was carried out with the tenants that have moved in, residents are extremely happy both with their housing and with the area generally.

For the modular apartments in the Södra Porten area, Mölndal Municipality will rent 60 apartments as a temporary housing solution for new arrivals. 30 apartments will be let by Wallenstam. Preliminary occupation is expected by February 2018.
