On Sunday, October 26, Wave Hill opens its 2014‒2015 concert season with a masterful performance by the widely-acclaimed Horszowski Trio. The trio, composed of violinist Jesse Mills, cellist Raman Ramakrishnan and pianist Rieko Aizawa, takes its inspiration and name from Mieczyslaw Horszowski, a legendary pianist celebrated for his musicianship, integrity and humanity.

Hailed by The New Yorker as “destined for great things,” the three virtuosic musicians play with an exhilarating, expressive freedom reflective of the deep trust—both musical and personal—that binds them together. The trio enjoys a busy performing schedule in the United States and abroad, with concerts in prior seasons taking them to India, Japan and Hong Kong.

At Wave Hill, the trio’s program includes Schumann’s Trio No. 2 in F Major, Op. 80 and Beethoven’s Trio in D Major, Op. 70, No. 1, known as “The Ghost Trio.” Come early to enjoy a leisurely stroll through Wave Hill’s renowned gardens or a visit to Recapturing the Scenic Wilds in Glyndor Gallery, and then settle in for an outstanding performance, starting at 2PM.
