CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) has announced the winners of the prestigious CEDIA Awards 2011 at a glittering black-tie ceremony on Friday 8th April at One Mayfair in London’s exclusive West End.

Held in association with AWE Europe, Loewe, Panasonic and Philips Dynalite, the Home Technology Event and Wildwood PR, the CEDIA Awards scheme recognises excellence in home technology integration and design across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and Pakistan.  Famous television actor and self-confessed smart home enthusiast, Trevor Eve, presented the awards in front of an audience of 300 industry professionals and media at the Gala Dinner.

Amongst the winners were some outstanding installations, including Grahams Hi-Fi, who won the Best Media Room over £15,000 category for ‘The Pope’s House; which the judges praised as “a beautiful bedroom which doubles as a completely concealed media room – incredible integration.” Prestige Audio triumphed with ‘Northwood Home Cinema’ in the Best Home Cinema £40,000-£100,000 category; a true re-creation of a cinematic experience in the home, with an easy-to-use design for intuitive use by all family members.

Elsewhere, SMC’s ‘Chelsea Family Home’ proved a clear winner in the Best Integrated Home £30,000-£100,000, through its incredibly flexible and technically impressive installation.  Henri Intégrateur Domotique won in the Best Integrated Home over £100,000 category for ‘Villa des Amis’; an amazing family retreat in France with an expansive, integrated custom installation, featuring lighting, whole home audio, video, security, and control of all electronics across all four floors of the property.

Robert Hallam, Chairman of CEDIA Region 1 and CEDIA Awards Chair of Judges said. “We appreciate the amount of time and effort it takes to enter the Awards and we would like to thank all our members for supporting the scheme again this year. The standard of this year’s event was incredible. Our members have really raised the bar, both in terms of standard of entries and the expectations of what can be achieved.”
