Baxi is delighted to announce that Blue Flame (Cornwall) has been crowned winner of the hotly contested Domestic Heating Contractor of the Year category at this year's prestigious H&V News Awards (Grosvenor House Hotel, 26 April 2012).

Sponsored by Baxi, this category featured an extremely high standard of finalists with Blue Flame (Cornwall) emerging triumphant in the Final over four rivals. The company impressed the judges with their range of significant customer service improvements introduced and implemented into the business alongside a marked increase in work capacity and output.

Andrew Keating, Baxi’s Managing Director, presented the award at the Gala Dinner in front of an audience of more than 1000 industry guests.

Congratulating Blue Flame (Cornwall) on its success, Andrew stated: “All the finalists in this category have proved their competence, professionalism and commercial success, so the winner had to really stand apart from the rest.  We are very impressed by Blue Flame’s holistic approach, which shows they have embraced all aspects of the business to successfully cut carbon emissions as well as providing as providing long terms benefits for householders.”

Blue Flame Cornwall’s Managing Director, Mark Bolitho added, “It was completely unexpected and, frankly, overwhelming to receive this recognition from our peers.”

“This is real recognition not only for us but for Cornish business as a whole and shows what you can achieve, collectively, if you work together towards common goals. Representing the South West, and particularly Cornwall, gives us great pride, so to be successful on this scale is humbling”.

Blue Flame (Cornwall) holds monthly best practice workshops to raise its profile and showcase its expertise. It works with suppliers to promote the benefits of fuel-switching incentives, as well as delivering workshop and seminar days to assist with alleviating fuel poverty. The company is also promoting the use of green technology through its dedicated renewable department as well as using renewable energy at its head office, in addition to a number of initiatives to cut energy and fuel consumption.  

Business Development Director Simon Foxhall who oversaw the awards submissions, added “We hope this will highlight what a quality business Blue Flame is and will help us to deliver more services, create more jobs and continue to invest in Cornwall”.

The H&V News Awards, organised by industry magazine H&V News, are the industry’s Oscars. They provide an independent stamp of approval for quality and innovation across the sector. Judged by a panel of distinguished industry figures, and now in their 18th year, the awards recognise excellence in heating, ventilating and air conditioning. The 19 winners were announced at the awards ceremony which was hosted by TV comedian Simon Evans, renowned for his appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
