CRESTRON SHOWCASE RANGE OF SOLUTIONS AT LIGHT + BUILDING SHOW
At the Light+Building Show 2012, Crestron presented its innovative control solutions for corporate, hospitality, luxury living and conference rooms. Visitors to the stand experienced live demonstrations of the technology by the Crestron team, while seeing a range of forward-thinking products that continue to improve and push the industry forward.
Crestron displayed the new CLW1 range of products, featuring in-wall dimmers and keypads. The CLWI series is easy to install and offers programming-free set-up to ensure a stress-free installation. When attached to a Crestron network it also functions as a keypad, sending commands to trigger whole-room lighting scenes or distributed audio functions. Supporting up to six buttons, the in-wall dimmer or switch serves as user control interface in any Crestron system. Sitting alongside the CLWI was the CLCI range of wireless in ceiling switches and dimmers. The CLCI provides built-in support for load control via a maintained or momentary switch and applications that require basic on/off control will benefit by using a typical cost-effective switch. Tie in occupancy sensors and photocells together with Crestron RoomView® software for a complete solution to effectively manage energy.
The company also highlighted its DIN rail lighting control products; a new pre-built panel service for authorised dealers who sell Crestron DIN rail lighting control products. Furthermore, all panels are available with either MCB inputs or RCBO inputs to ensure full compliance with 17th Edition regulations. The DIN-DALI-2, a DALI interface for Crestron systems providing control of up to 2 individual DALI loops, was at the event. Housed in a DIN-rail enclosure, the DIN-DALI-2 is a great low-profile Cresnet® or Ethernet companion to the DIN-AP2 processor, or any 2-Series control system. In addition to controlling the DALI data bus, it includes an integrated DALI power supply. The single-wire connectivity simplifies both new and retrofit installations, and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) versatility assists in situations with existing CAT5 infrastructure.
Guests to the Crestron stand go to find out about the GLS-EM-MCU, an Ethernet-based power metering control unit, designed to log overall electricity usage in real time. By attaching our GLS-EM-MCU to the incoming electrical service and branch circuits, it measures and tracks actual energy consumption. The GLS-EM-MCU also works in unison with the GLS-EM-CTI and GLS-EM-CT to provide more detailed data by tracking individual branch circuits in a home or office. This data is then displayed on a touch panel, mobile device or computer for viewing by users, to reduce energy emissions and asserted costs. Additionally, the GLS-EM-MCU system interfaces, with Fusion EM™ Energy Management Software, provide reports with greater detail showing total building consumption.
Also displayed was the new Fusion EM™ software; a complete energy management solution for organisations of any size from schools and universities to corporate enterprises. Fusion EM tracks your organisation's carbon footprint while giving you the control to easily change and schedule temperature set points and lighting levels. The Crestron Fusion platform is a scalable framework which provides the basis on which to monitor and manage lighting, energy, and AV, while providing the tools for remote help desk, room scheduling and asset tracking. Fusion expands upon the established Crestron RoomView® Server Edition (SE) platform by upping the ante with its scalable redundant architecture and multiple front-end components: Fusion RV™ and Fusion EM.
DMX interfaces offer a complete lighting playback and integration processor which features advanced DMX lighting control. Ideally suited to both architectural and entertainment lighting control projects, DMX interfaces from Crestron feature sophisticated event scripting and robust I/O capabilities.
The comprehensive new line of Crestron keypads takes the world's most basic control device to the highest levels of function and style to offer elegant solutions for live and corporate environments. On show were a range of touch panel controllers for the simple intuitive control of sound levels, lighting scenes and all other aspects of automation. Crestron is able to offer full control of all systems at the touch of a button or swipe of a touch screen. The new designs have a stylish, minimalist look that combines with a wide range of finishes and options – including wired and wireless control - to create a keypad solution with broad appeal for lighting designers, technicians, custom installers and systems integrators. The stand will include our first single-gang touchpanels the TPMC 3-5M, TPML and 3-SMD for residential and commercial centres.
The extensive stand also included DigitalMedia 8G+. Crestron has led the automation industry for over 40 years and its latest networking solution, DigitalMedia 8G+, has become the industry standard for its ability to deliver virtually any mix of analogue and digital signals without compression or scaling. Crestron USA has recently celebrated its 50,000th DM installation, cementing the ranges international importance
The Sonnex audio delivery system redefines audio distribution for the digital age. It transmits up to 48 channels of uncompressed 24-bit HD audio across a single shielded CAT5e cabl, and delivers improved performance and significantly reduces hardware and software cabling. Alongside Sonnex the Excite speakers which have recently been added to Crestron’s range of multi-room audio delivery solutions, were at Light + Building,
